Gluten Free Sourdough Discard Recipes

Gluten Free Sourdough Discard is the portion of sourdough starter that’s removed during regular feedings to keep the starter active and balanced.

Even though it’s called “discard,” it’s far from useless. This mixture still contains wild yeast and beneficial bacteria that give sourdough its signature flavor. When added to baked goods, sourdough discard brings a subtle tang while also helping improve texture.

In gluten-free baking, it can make a noticeable difference - adding softness, structure, and a more balanced flavor to everything from muffins to crackers.
